Welcome to the Cyber Rapid Action Unit (CRAU)

The Cyber Rapid Action Unit (CRAU) serves as a centralized platform for reporting and addressing incidents of cybercrime and online fraud across India. It functions in close coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure swift investigation and action on cyber-enabled offenses.

For detailed information about CRAU’s objectives, structure, and operational framework, please visit our [About Us] page.

Report a Cyber Complaint

The Cyber Rapid Action Unit primarily handles cases that need swift action:

Crimes involving children (such as online child abuse or exploitation) should be reported directly to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal under the section “Report Child Related Crime.”

Cases involving national security or terrorism threats should be reported through the National Investigation Agency (NIA) or relevant law enforcement authority.

How You Can Help

Securing India’s Digital Future is the Core Mission of CRAU

Your Vigilance Strengthens Our Cyber Shield

From connecting with loved ones and conducting digital payments, to working, learning, and transacting online — our lives are deeply intertwined with the digital ecosystem. With this connectivity comes an ever-growing threat: cybercriminals operating from across the globe attempt to breach networks, exploit systems, and steal sensitive information every day.

No one — and no device — is entirely immune from cyber threats. That’s why the Cyber Rapid Action Unit (CRAU) works around the clock to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber incidents impacting individuals, businesses, and government systems.

But security is a shared responsibility.

In cyberspace, a single vulnerability can endanger thousands. Every citizen, institution, and organization must stay alert — adopting safe digital practices, securing personal data, and learning to recognize fraudulent schemes and online scams.

Together, we can build a secure, resilient, and cyber-aware India.

The Information You Submit Makes All the Difference

Combined with other data, it allows the CBI to investigate reported crimes, track trends and threats, and, in some cases, even freeze stolen funds. Just as importantly, we shares reports of crime throughout its vast network of CBI field offices and law enforcement partners, strengthening our nation’s collective response both locally and nationally.

Due to the massive number of complaints, we receive each year, we cannot respond directly to every submission, but please know we take each report seriously. With your help, we can and will respond faster, defend cyber networks better, and more effectively protect our nation.
